Jacaranda trees in my neighborhood...
The Blue Train 10
Jacaranda could be a counterpart of "Sakura" in the south hemisphere as we see "Sakura" blooming and feel a hint of Spring season coming. It was in 2013 in Pretoria, South Africa when I saw Jacaranda in full bloom for the first time.
Back Number: The Blue Train 10
I had already been there a few times before that, but it was always not in the season. I actually saw it blooming around the coast of Riviera in South France or in Peru, but not comparable to those in South Africa in numbers.
One day around this time of last year, I was walking in the Nagai Park, and obscurely noticed some light purple color between trees planted there. I immediately thought that I might be Jacaranda, but I was half-doubtful because I hear that Jacaranda trees in Japan are mostly planted in Miyazaki prefecture where it is warm and mind in temperature.
When I got to closer to have a look, however, it was definitely Jacaranda which flowers are blooming beautifully in the color of light purple. I don't know about how and how fast it glows, but it was already more than five meters tall. The ones in South Africa were also tall in height, but much easier to take a photo.
Since I have a DSLR camera now with a 55-250 mm Zoom lenses, I could capture the flowers in higher positions this time. Since there are only two Jacaranda trees in the park, I can stop feeling if there were more Jacaranda trees there, they would definitely become an attractive feature of this park after Spring Sakura Season.
Of course, I understand that it is an easy-going way of thinking, and easily guess that it would take long time to make them glow that tall, but it is just a wish for a fan of this beautiful flower, Jacaranda. I'm sure that I would go to South Africa sometime in future, and would like to take photos by my DSLR.
Though it is under the condition that the cities are safe enough to hang around for shooting...
