APRIL 2025 ~ Career change・・・

On my way to my first shift at my new job, I stopped by Starbucks to relax for a new start. 

 Career change is a matter of Timing... It shouldn't be too early and too late...

It is said that the older you get, the more difficult it becomes to change jobs. What do you think? In accordance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, both men and women can be employed in all occupations. Almost 20 years ago, the similar act to protect the equal employment was implemented for people of all ages. But in reality it's not that simple. I'm 51 years old now. I tried my 6th career change, and let's see how it went.

新しい職場の初日の勤務に向かう前に、道中のスターバックスでワンクッションしてから向かいます。

転職はタイミングの問題・・・。早すぎても遅すぎてもいけない・・・。

年齢を重ねるにつれて、転職は難しくなると言われています。どう思いますか？男女雇用機会均等法によって男女はすべての雇用において平等でなければんりません。また似たような法律で年齢における公平な雇用に関するものもあります。しかし現実はそんなに単純なものではありません。自分は今５１歳で、6度目に転職にトライを試みることになった。さて、どうなったかといえば・・・。

It was last February that I started seriously considering to change jobs because I had been frustrated with various conditions that I felt not right. So I visited the Hello Work to register my personal information, and sent my documents to one company, but I wasn't successful. However, I didn't mind it at all because the working shift wasn't ideal for me to support my parents.  At the same time, I registered a few career agents, and I sent my CV to one hotel. Then I was invited to an interview. 

Well, I finished my career change well, and got a new job that I'm supposed to start from the 1st of April. It was faster than I‘d expected. I was planning to find a new job in the next few months. 

釈然としない様々な状況条件にフラストレーションを感じて転職を真剣に考え始めたのは2月の事。ハローワークに登録し、そこで一社に書類を送りましたが上手くいきませんでした。しかしながら両親をサポートするために自分が強く希望する就業の時間帯ではなかったので全く気にはなりませんでした。また同時にいくつかの転職サイトに登録しあるホテルの求人に書類を送ります。すると面接に呼ばれました。

…転職活動は終わりました。採用となり4月1日から勤務を開始します。思っていたより早く決まりました。予定では２，３ヵ月の内に仕事を変えるつもりでしたから。

Once I got a new job, I didn't want put any more efforts on job searching. I might have jumped into a quick decision, but I felt somehow smooth in all of the process and timing. I have no idea what it is going to be like in future, but I just take and enjoy a flow of my new life. 

一旦、仕事が決まると、それ以上転職活動にエネルギーを注ぎたくありません。早計な決断かもしれませんが、何か過程やタイミングにスムースさを感じました。未来がどのようになるかはわかりませんが、その流れを楽しみ受け入れるだけです。

My buddies, Gaku & Waka's birthday is coming this month. I officially set their birthday as of the 1st of April in 2018 when I adopted them in 2019. So we will celebrate their 7th birthday. They are well now, and I do hope that their life keep on peaceful and healthy further in future.

ガクとワカの誕生日が今月です。彼らを2019年に保護した時に2018年4月1日が彼らの誕生日と決めました。7歳の誕生日です。今も元気ですし、これからも彼らの猫生が平和で健康でありつづけるように願っています。
