Daffodils and Wordsworth...

While writing my previous post, "Why here...?", I looked into a word, ”水仙” (Suisen) which is in English,  "Daffodils", or "Narcissus" in the academic term. The origin of the word "Narcissus" is derived from one of Greek myth stories about a handsome youth, Narcissus. 

And its language flower words are "Self-Love" and "Conceit" because a host of Daffodils bloomed at the place where Narcissus died. Narcissus could love only himself.

When I hear a word "Self-Love", I immediately come up with one of the most favorite songs of Mari Hamada, "Self-Love" which is in her 9th album, "In the precious age" This song is about a person, probably herself who has been living a life at the fully best, giving global love to people through songs. The person might have been through many hardships not only in careers, but in personal life as well. Could've been hurt many times by baseless things. However, the song goes...,

"If I could love people with a devotion not seeking any returns like a vast ocean, I would let all the lies told go with the winds of seasons."

I just wonder, by accepting all the good and bad happening on the earth, it may be the most practical way for us to protect ourselves, our heart and soul. That' might be "Self-Love" she is singing about....

Speaking of the word "Daffodils, one of English poet laureates, William Wordsworth wrote a poem, "The Daffodils".

When all at once I saw a crowd, 
A host of golden daffodils, 
Beside the lake, beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze

I went to Lake District in England several times when I was a tour escort, and even to a house near the lake Windermere where his family used to live. However I feel now a bit pity because I've got a feeling now that I may get the world of his poetry getting some inspirations as he got in the nature of beautiful Lake District. I clearly see the image of the poem.

I was just not ready at that time.

I was fed up with traveling before coming back to Osaka. However I feel fine now to go back to traveling somehow. Of course not in the way I did a s a tour leader, but in a new way that I could do better for myself.

What I'm doing here now probably may be just a preparation to have everything I need for that.

Another chilly harsh Winter temperature again today, but the time I have these thoughts may be very meaningful to me...
