Rocks and Balance...

I went to a lecture by Mr. SUDA Gunji at "廣田神社” (Hirota Jinjya Shrine) on 24th of March. He is a photographer chasing rocks called "磐座/Iwakura" ("Iwakura"/Dwelling place of the God) throughout the world.

His presentation was very interesting, and only 2 hour lecture was not enough for me. I wanted to listen to his lecture more to get further information. How I was led to his lecture this time was really a sequence of coincidences.

One day I went to "廣田神社” (Hirota Jinjya Shrine) for the first time after hiking to my favorite place in Rokko mountain ranges on Feb. 3 (http://brighteningmynorthernsky.blogspot.jp/2018/02/why-here.html). I happened to find a brochure about his lecture at the shrine office when getting the shrine stamp.

Of course, my synchronicity always comes with a sequence of one and another coincidences, and I always end up finding out in the end what it was. So several coincidences led me to his lecture, and I immediately felt that I need to attend it.

From ancient times, rocks have been a object to worship something awe-inspiring. They sometimes become a place for ritual prayers. There are still many traces in the world. And when I was a tour escort traveling in world, I noticed that rocks and mountains often appear in the God's revelation stories. I was always curious about it.

I think that these rocks take very important roles of maintaining the balance of the mother Earth. If I use a scientific term, it may be "magnetic field". What if we destroy and lose it, it may simply cause catastrophic situations affecting the nature balance of this mother Earth. And we, humans are also one of creatures belonging to it. If our mother lose the balance, and we also lose ours.

I believe that it is very important in the field of Urban Development. Without concerning the matter, we just end up assaulting ourselves.

In Mr. Suda's lecture, he introduced us one of a resort hotel's ruin on a mountain range of Nouga plateau in Hiroshima prefecture which already closed back in late 80's as an example. It was very interesting. The hotel was build on the rocks regarded as "磐座/Iwakura". The rocks fortunately still exist in the ruin because they were used as a part of Spa area.

I just wondered what was the cause of the resort's closure? Could be the business planning and management!? Could be the negligence to the importance of "磐座/Iwakura".

Who knows...

Before leaving where I lived in Ishigaki Island, new resort hotels were already under construction. It was very sad to see tress felling downs and cultivating the lands in disorders. I also saw rocks cultivated on the ground.

I'm just wondering if my favorite place is going to lose the balance or not...

Where are another rocks to chase for me?

That's all of my wacky thoughts, anyway...
